DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT
COURSE SUMMARY The Doctor of Philosophy in Economic Development is a 3-year research-based program offered by Africa School of Politics and Governance at ASPG University. The program is delivered 100 percent online to students across Africa and globally. This PhD focuses on growing economies from community, rural, regional, and national levels. The program is built on 6 core pillars: developing sustainable businesses from local resources, increasing agricultural activities, developing human skills, protecting economies to benefit citizens, providing decent housing in rural, town and city areas to reduce congestion, and ensuring equal and fair distribution of economic opportunities especially to disadvantaged communities. Year 1 establishes the foundations of economic development, local systems, and the impact of policy on communities. Year 2 provides a comparative analysis of economic development strategies against Constitutional Law and God’s principles of stewardship, justice, and equal share. Year 3 is dedicated to original research, where students develop a thesis and a national economic development roadmap to increase foreign income through international marketing of local products and services. Graduates will be equipped to serve as economic advisors, development planners, policy makers, and leaders who can build inclusive economies that create jobs, wealth, and dignity for all citizens.
Attended online via e-Learning.
